Hi, Wang Jian:
I am happy to meet you! What about progress of GNOME's messages? And how many people working on this? Have any arrangement? Need help? I can share your works. Do you have any list of translation status? As same as GNOME's?

Hello Wu,
It seems that only I am working on GNOME now. There were two guys before, but it seems that they are not active.
I have CVS account, so I can commit directly into the source tree. That means I can keep working efficiently, and don't need another person's help to commit translation.
If you want to help, please specify your skills :-) We need:
1. webmasters ( web pages ) 2. translators ( translation, QA ) 3. programmers ( scripts, tools )
To translate GNOME, see the attached gnome.txt
The status page on gnome.org reflects the status perfectly, so I don't want to waste my time to implement my own. But if we have a large team, we should have one

In Taiwan, we have a i18n team translating po file for kde and they have very good result. Why not your guys join our project and tranlaste it into GB code. I think it would be more efficiency.
Best Regard, Allen

Hello Allen,
Translation reuse is good, but here are some facts :-)
o zh_CN translation is more complete than zh_TW translation except kde-others o The almost finished translation is overlapped, so cross reference is inefficient or anti-efficient. Think about the issues wrt. minor updates, how can you do it efficient by taking out the updated lines from the other team's translated PO? o zh_TW translation misses many PO's that zh_CN team has translated. So it is more suitable for zh_TW to reuse zh_CN PO's. o Reuse imcomplete PO is anti-efficient, that means, if a PO is less than 90% complete, we should wait till it is 99% complete and then convert-modify, or we should do it now and not reuse the left 10%. o We lack scripts to do terminology conversion. So the reuse is sometime, especially for the small PO, inefficient o I haven't use KBabel, but I have heard that it is a very useful tool, with auto translation capability. Doesn't have time to try it (I use english version linux).
See http://i18n.kde.org/stats/gui/i18n-status-table.html for reference.
