那以後我們翻譯 po 檔時，還要加 '\' 字元嗎？還是就統一不加了 Eric Cheng -----Original Message----- From: thhsieh(a)tlug.sinica.edu.tw [mailto:thhsieh@tlug.sinica.edu.tw] Sent: Thursday, April 26, 2001 8:39 AM To: cle-devel(a)linux.org.tw Cc: debian-chinese-big5(a)lists.debian.org Subject: [info] new gettext Hi, 「新一代」的 gettext 已經出來了，不曉得大家知不知道？我所謂的「新一代」意思是: 至少它在處理 Big5 碼時，遇到「功」、「許」這類末尾碼為 '\' 字元的字時，我們都不再需要加額外的 '\' 字元，就可以直接用 msgfmt 來編譯了。舉個例子，以往我們在翻譯 po 檔時: msgid "there are many options." msgstr "這裡有許多選項。" 我們都要將 msgstr 改成 msgstr "這裡有許\多選項。" 也就是在 "許" 字之後多個反斜線，如此編譯才能過關。但現在使用「新一代」的 gettext 就不需要了 (多了那個反斜線反而編譯會出錯)。我個人認為，此「新一代」的 gettext 比起過去的版本還要好，且更符合我們使用，因此建議從事 po 檔翻譯的朋友試試看。同時最新的 glibc-2.2.X 在安裝時也已要求要這些新版的 gettext 了。此新版的 gettext 版本號碼為 0.10.36 以上，我昨天是直接到 GNU 抓最新的 0.10.37 來用。 ps.
